Anuga is the world’s leading food fair for the retail trade and the food service and catering market, which takes place every two years in Cologne Germany. Anuga combines 10 trade fairs in one including Fine Food, Frozen Food, Meat, Chilled & Fresh Food, and Food Service. In addition, the exhibition program included 11 trend themes showcasing where industry demands are now and where future trends will be heading.
RTC Foods visited Anuga this year and found it to be an excellent opportunity to investigate current and future trends within the food industry. We identified some key trends showcased at the fair, most notably the focus on the plant-based meat movement.
At this fair, exhibitors and visitors come from almost every country in the world for cross-border transactions and contacts. With over 170,000 trade visitors from 201 countries and around 7,500 exhibitors from 106 countries, the trade fair set new records in 2019.
